Hudson

One long hill of shops on Warren Street, a Saturday market four blocks off it, and furniture and clay scattered up and down the river from Catskill to Kingston.

— On Hudson

Warren Street does most of the work. The rest is a drive, and worth it.

Four of these are on Warren Street, inside six blocks of each other — 427, 613, 705, 722 — which means the core of a Hudson day is a single walk up one hill. The Saturday market is four blocks off it, at 6th and Columbia. Fern’s furniture workshop is the odd one out inside town, over on South 3rd Street where the shopfronts give way to studios.

The rest are a drive. Catskill’s Main Street carries two of them — a home goods shop and a store-front ceramics studio — across the river; Germantown holds a furniture maker’s showroom south along the water; and Uptown Kingston, furthest out, has the kitchen shop. Grouped below by what you’re after. We haven’t been through these doors ourselves yet, and where hours aren’t published we say so. Confirm before you drive.
