Fourteen shops, and they cluster. Greenpoint alone holds four — a pottery studio on West Street, a ceramic studio and gallery at 121 Meserole, a plant shop two blocks along at 59, and a vintage co-op around the corner on Norman Avenue. Atlantic Avenue carries three more across three neighbourhoods: home goods at 372 in Boerum Hill, a kitchen shop at 197 in Cobble Hill, and the original Sahadi’s at 187 in Brooklyn Heights, with a garden shop a block off it on Hoyt Street. Fort Greene and Red Hook add one apiece, and on Saturday mornings the greenmarket sets up where Prospect Park West meets Flatbush.
Manhattan is three: John Derian on East 2nd Street in the East Village, Coming Soon on Canal in the Lower East Side, and Fishs Eddy up on Broadway at the Flatiron end. It’s grouped below by what you’re after. None of it paid to be here, and we haven’t been through these doors ourselves — every page says so plainly, and every one is free for its owner to take and correct. Hours are as the shops publish them; five publish none at all, so check the day before you walk over.
